915 shifting noise
Hello yet again,
The other early morning heading to cars and coffee and driving hard, I was shifting from 4th to 5th and as I removed 4th and started going across to 5th it made a loud snapping noise as if something plastic had broken. The car still shifts fine but every so often, especially when not expecting it, SNAP ! What could this be ??? The other thing is that I am now clipping reverse as I down shift from 5th to 4th as well ![]() Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers ! |

Yep, coupler bushings. Pull up the carpet on the rear of the center tunnel and remove the access plate.
If you end up needing new bushings, a forum member here sells good ones. |
