Vin # Help '84 Widebody?
I looked at an '84 widebody with a buddy the other day and we are trying to decide if it is authentic or not. Can anyone tell me from this VIN#?

On my Porsche Family Tree says the VIN belongs to a 1984 Carrera Coupe, the engine SN should be between 64E00051 and 64E05817.. it does not give any details about the "Turbo Look" option.. I really need to buy a better book..

The factory option code for the Turbo Look Body was
M491. It should be in the owners manual or maybe under the hood someplace!

i thought the widebody wasn't available as an option until '85. i'll check my frere book.

It was an option in '84 but became a standard model in '85
