drove 3000km this past weekend!

drove to a friend's house on the coast, brisbane -> sydney -> bateman's bay, with a mate riding shotgun to take some pics. he's putting some more pics and hi res copies up tonight if anyone is interested!
streetfans | Driving, Photography, Friends…

drove the first leg down to sydney to stay overnight at a friend's place.

went to the next day for australia day drifts before grabbing a pub lunch and continuing on down the coast.

after a hot run down the mountain range we stopped for fuel but the engine had trouble kicking over..

simply push started it and got on our way. turned out it was the starter motor sticking because it got too hot on the run down, so after getting it to the coast house it was fine.

as always, 911 is perfectly practical

on the way back we hit the good stuff!

we pretty much zigzagged through out the hills between the two motorways to avoid weekend traffic:

all in all, definitely worth it!

yeah was absolutely great to just enjoy the car - been working on the bloody things too much lately!
standard 915 gearing, and with 17" R888's, still got 9L/100km on average!

Which way did you cut across was it Kangeroo Valley?
That's only 40min from my place, that and the Camberrwarra Road to Berry are my favorites around here.
Great pics of your trip, nice to see your car being used as it should.

Next time you decide to head down this way drop me a PM and I'll drum up a posse of local 911's to keep you company.
Cheers
Bill

moss vale to nowra through kangaroo valley on the way down, then with the road closed and weekend traffic we bounced around between berry and kangaroo valley, zig zagged up to mittagong. would love to do a convoy next time!

Steve

You should get down here sometime soon. It's cheap from the US.

Thanks for the photos. I used to live in Sydney in the 80s.

I drove many Kms on your country roads in my ancient Alfa Romeo Giulia.
20 something at the time and lots of testosterone

I thought I recognised that a couple of the pics were from the road between Berry and Kangaroo Valley over Camberwarra Mountain.
Going that way is about a 15km detour when I go to Berry but it just has to be done at least one way each time I go there in the 911.
Do let me know the next time you are down this way.
Cheers
Bill

Saw your post on performanceforums
It's a great looking car and from what I've seen well set up too. I'll be pinching some of your suspension setup for mine soon!
