915 Shifting issues

I have an 81SC, was having some issues with tranny occasionally sticking in gear.
It finally stuck giving me 4th or reverse, the shifter moves but wont go to neutral or select any other gear.
Suspected bushings, addressed them with a new shifter and linkages (Hargett) but it still wont shift. Tried just manipulting the selector shaft directly to no avail.
The car will roll if you depress the clutch but no other gear than 4th or reverse, any ideas?
Car has 100k miles transmission history unknown, previous owner claimed a rebuild about 15K ago and to be honest have no reason to doubt him.

I would check the shift coupler.

I had a similar experience when I replaced my shift coupler without following instructions on the 101 Projects. I lost all gears and got stuck in neutral. Depressing the clutch would reverse the car on neutral. What I did was, I had to loosen the shift coupler, put the stick shift on the left most position of the neutral (had to tie the shifter to the left door handle and tightened the shift coupler) per 101 Projects. It would be easier if you get an extra hand to help you so you don't have to tie the shift leftwards.

However, you mentioned you have a new shifter and linkage (Hargett) so I am not sure if above procedure applies.

are the reverse lights on when you have it in 4th? if so search stuck in reverse for a solution (push in pin on reverse switch)
