BRAKE BLEED PROBLEM (after p-valve gut)

After gutting the proportioning valve on my 85, I can't get a good pedal.
I went around the car 3-4 times with the pressure bottle (@13 lbs) hooked up to the reservoir.
I think the problem is that the valve itself is holding a trapped air bubble.
Does that sound right?
Anyone know of someone making a replacement hard line with 2 female fittings to fill in for the valve casing?
thanks for your input

Bleed it the old fashion way. Have someone pump the pedal 10 times hold it down then bleed three or four times on each wheel. Start at the r/r then l/r then r/f then l/f.

is the master cyl. went dry in the process I would bench bleed it.

I had a board on the pedal so the only fluid I lost was from the valve itself.

Had not though about the old fashion two man method. I'll give it a try next time my son visits. I did a gravity bleed at the back and it got a little better.
Thanks
