Porsche assembly line 1970 (pic)

Found this great picture of the Porsche assembly line 1970 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1364300620.jpg D@vid |
Thanks! Great picture.
|
wow that is a great pic .. bet the guys with a 70 of those colours are wondering if its their car in the pic.
|
Very cool, thanks!

912 on the right.. I have an Albert Blue 911 S,from early 1970 MY production, so I am thinking of the second in that row...
Edit: I see a lot of 912 engines on that rack, can't spot a 6 cylinder...:( |
David,
I am always keen to download a genuine press picture but the 912 ceased in 1969 MY and the photo is reversed. Keep them coming ! Cheers, Dennis. :) |
The bumperettes are without rubber pads, so the picture is from 1966 or earlier.
|
it looks like a black & white photo someone colorized.

Pretty cool photo...they used to do a run of one color so they didn't have to re-prime their spray guns between cars. Wonder if they did runs of 912s separate from 911s also to make assembly easier.
Quite a bit different from the sterile robots that make todays Porsches. |
I think picture is flipped, look at right car tailpipe, and steering shaft on the left car, there are no smugglers box on RHD cars... :-)
