Cibie vs Marchal hood lights.....

Yes I searched, all over here and the web in general, could not find an answer.

It looks like Marchal and Cibie both made lights like these which went on 911's (and Citroen's etc). My question is are the housings all the same, and your can swap in either a Cibie or Marchal internals? I am hunting high/low beam lens setups for this style light. Cibie and Marchal both made them at one point for this setup, and now the Marchal's are around on occasion but the Cibie's are much harder to find.

Borrowed this pic from another Pelican thread.

I am not an expert on this, but I have had both cibie and marshal versions of the hood lights and to the best of my knowledge all the internals are interchangeable and the lenses are the only difference. The lens bodies just have to have the 4 tabs on the back with holes for the threaded adjusters.

I thought the Marchal had rubber boots to protect the bulb,.and the Cibie did not. But the repro Cibie has the boots. I don't own a pair yet, but if anyone has a sweet deal on a set I am always looking.
