Strut tower seam sealer

Hi All -
What is the correct product to replicate/replace the black goo on the tops of the front strut towers in the front trunk?

Thanks!
Scott S

I wanted something that would remove a little easier, so I used plumbers putty that I was able to source at Lowes or Home Depot. The correct stuff is too permanent for me.

I am not sure exactly what product they used originally, but I am about to use 3M Brushable Seam Sealer (08656) on my seams. Though it is not on the can, I just noted that it is Gray in color. So I will use on the seams that will be painted and find another for my shock towers. I did note that Eastwood's has a brushable seam sealer.

You may want to post on the Pelican Body and Paint board. There are several knowledge people who probably know the answer.

Please post if you find the proper product.

Good luck,

Bob
