993 Belt tension sensor

Posted on the 993 forum as well. My 96 993 has this strange problem with the belt tension warning light. Originally I thought it was a faulty sensor so I replaced. After a short period of time the light went back on. Well I now replaced the belts just as a precaution. Still lights up. So now I zip tie the pulley back, it still lights up usually when I step on the brake pedal. Anyone experience a similar problem? I even connected the two pins in the plug witha wire to close the circuit and it will still light up. The only thing I can think of is a bad plug but how would I check that? Any ideas? Thanks.
