Looking for San Diego Resources

Hi,

I haven't been fully plugged-in yet to the scene here of my new San Diego home. I'm looking for a few things though:

1. A Porsche-centric race shop. Where do the racers get their stuff here? All online?
2. A Porsche-centric junk yard? A place like Carquip or Dart Auto in Colorado would be great.
3. A local Hoosier dealer? I'm sure local racers have a spot to do corner-balancing and race tire swaps, no?

I'm in San Diego county, in North Park, so I'm pretty central to SD.

Thanks!

mto

1) Mirage in Miramar, Blackforest in Kearney Mesa, and Performance in La Mesa

2) Autobahn in El Cajon

3) C2 Motorsports in Kearney Mesa sells Hoosiers and mounts them up, PCA members get a discount on the labor

welcome to SD!

1. Steve Grosekemper at Dieter's is awesome, and close to you also.

2. +10000, Sean has helped me out numerous times with parts.

come down to Qualcomm stadium on July 7th, the local region is hosting an autocross. Stop by and say Hi, we are a really friendly group.

Thanks guys. I called over to Autobahn and checked out their website. Were very nice on the phone, which is refreshing for a car place.

I stopped by Black Forest because it's right near my gym, and was REALLY impressed. Super clean and dialed in. I'm excited to go back again.

I will definitely come by the autocross on the 7th. I'd love a co-drive too, because my car doesn't have wheels yet...but I'll coast it down the hill. I've got thin, studded snow tires on it at the moment.

Jae Lee at Mirage has a great reputation for setting up and designing suspensions for much of the pool of local racers. He's also building the Singer 911 engines for Cosworth.

Sorry I didn't respond to your happy hour proposal. I have two young kids and things don't happen for me without some advanced notice. I'm also up in North County, 25 minutes with no traffic and 2 hours on a Friday afternoon :-)

No worries, brutha. Let's make a plan soon though. I *should* have wheels and be able to drive in the next few weeks. Unless you have a spare set you want to loan me for a bit?

Hello welcome to north park

If you have an early 911 or 356 vintage I would recommend John Chambers, Chambers motor sports in Carlsbad he is very detail oriented.

Also Mark Kinninger at Black Forrest is very good especially on race car prep. Blackforest also does corner balancing

When I worked downtown I used Steve Grosskemper to help me get my car tuned to pass CA smog and he is very good as well.

All three of these guys are good dudes to deal with can't go wrong.
