185/70X15 Sources

A quick seach of the archives didn't get any hits, so I thought I would ask if anyone knows of a source in the US for 185/70X15 H tires. There are several folks that stock the Vredestein "S" rated tire, but none that I can find for "H" series rubber. There is a shop in the UK that for £172.00 (delivered) each will ship a Yoko "V" rated tire. That's a little steep!

Anyone have a recommendation? Or, is this a SOL situation and I should just go to 195/65X15 rubber?

Wink

If you dont go for the 008s, 206/60/15s fit real nice.

Tirerack.com has Yokohama AVS intermediates on closeout for $56. Great tire, great price.

In the USA, Coker tire, 1-800-251-6336 is very popular for reproducing original tires for a wide variety of vehicles. You might give them a call, ask for a catalog. But after looking at their price for replica XWX michelins? Whew! I went with 195/65 Yoko A008P. Alas, Yoko quit making the A008P in that size...so, I'm still mulling over what to do when it's time to re-tire...

I've just this moment purchased a Vredestein H rated 185/70/15 from www.vintage-tyres.co.uk. Not exactly what I was looking for (Dunlop D4), but not a bad compromise - i.e. classic styling and tread, with a modern rubber and reasonable price (£105 - including delivery and new tube - that is to the UK though).

Also know of a man over here who's got some Fulda tyres with a VR rating - about the same price - but I've heard some bad things about fulda (not very good in the wet)
