getting hot in south florida

i got my 86 targa 3.2 in november. i realized the AC system had a refrigerant leak. i wasn't too concerned up till now, while sortin out other 911 projects. its getting into the 80s and summer will be here soon. i don't want my baby to be just a night driver.is there a more likely place to find a freon leak on my car, as in a weak link. i know the AC is known as being underpowered. but it is converted to 134a and would love to have some air this summer. where would you start.
thanks guys. btw i'm gonna fill with nitrogen to try and find it. don't want to waste refrigerant.

it was underpowered when the factory built it .. also with the barrier hoses and now converted to 134 unless thy did it " right " with a 134 compressor (not converting the valve) and new lines, condensor etc ... you are on an uphill climb but will need your wallet more than anything to get there ....

You have a targa ... pop the top ... down the windows and as Joe bob says kick up the tunes and drive .....

fill with nitrogen and add some dye. Then i think you look over the system with a black light . If a big leak look at the front condensor (under the bumper and subject to stone damage) small leaks anywhere ,maybe compressor seal etc

Tampa here rinverso. Without upgrading the system (do a search tons of threads on it), it will never cool you off. You are guaranteed to sweat and have the back of your shirt dripping when you get to your destination.

If the system was converted to the R134 and they did not change out all the lines, my understanding is that the freon leaks out due to a difference in size of the molecule.
