What model spring plates are these?
Can anyone tell me from what model year these spring plates are from, and if, by this photo, if they're in good shape?

They look like mine (adjustable SC plates). Clean them up, paint and replace the bushings and they'd be fine I think!

It appears that the bottom one in the photo is an adjustable SC plate and the upper one is the older non-adjustable version. The bushings look more worn in the top one as well, but it may be a trick of perspective in the photo.

The upper is a slight bend pre 83 spring plate. Guess a mid 70´s. The lower is a G50 3,2L plate. Grüsse |

Not selling, but just a tip: make sure you get the hardware for those two pieces that fit together (the two nuts and bolts you see in the pic). I got a pair of "free" spring plates but spent $140 on the hardware at the dealer.

If you are driving your car then go with new adjustable spring plates and new covers from the 84on 3,2L versions. Porsches sales them much cheaper ( in germany they are around 300 euros ) then the previous fixed spring plates wich I only use on collectors cars. The adjustable spring plates are NOT to alter the ride high, they are made for easier leveling and wight balancing. Yet they can change the hight by1". Most relatet hardware is still aviable at Porsche. The big bolts for adusting the chambers are runing at 15 & 5 euro in europe. On the 3,2L versions Porsche used special M12x1,5 selflooking nuts wich have not to be renewed each time you touch them but if you work on used parts you ain´t know the history you better go safe. The previous versions used Schnorr washers under the nut´s so you need 10 new ones if you rework your rearaxle. BTW the upper spring plate sowhed in the picture would never had been sold or used if It would be on me. It is worn out oldmetall. The springplate is visiblebend and has now a weak spot wich will lead to uncontrolled flex in the rear under hard cornering. Thats just the same feeling like driving with a flat runed tire. My opinon is that 80% from all the old Porsches out there drive like shiet, becourse people can´t afford to change the worn axle parts. They rather go to buy silly add on fixes like sway bars or chamberstruts. Grüsse |

I do plan to go more "internal" with my rear suspension in the next month or so. Bushings are a large part of it, plus some thicker torsion bars. I haven't thought much about other axle parts. What do you suggest I look at, and how do I order the 3.2-series springplates you mentioned earlier?

Spring plates
I was the one that bought those spring plates a few weeks ago. There was a misunderstanding, I thought I was getting 2 adjustable spring plates but what showed up was exactly what was in that photo, 1 adjustable,1 notsomuch!!! I am still waiting for the guy at Racers Group to let me know how he can fix the situation.They are not much good as a replacement for my non adjustables the way they are.... It doesn't matter how cheap you get something if it doesn't work.

Yeah, those are the ones. I talked to the guy (can't remember his name) Friday morning, and he said they've got no other springplates around. Might you go with a Weltmeister setup or what Roland suggested?
