Hi
I picked up a sporto locally from an guy who had a foreign car junk yard and closed it. I posted on another thread wondering why both axles move like they were limited slip. I think it is limited slip and the attached photo shows that it is a 925/00 (an 1972 E 4 speed, but note that the 00 has lines through the center of them. I could not find any other markings say a 12 that others indicated should be present. anyone have any ideas as to what the lines mean? ![]() ![]()

Not at all sure about the lines, but the sporto never had a LSD. I do not believe there was ever a LSD of the correct size to fit in a sporto case, or that a sporto diff would fit in any other case.

I don't think the lines have anything to do with the numbers.
They look like something was either dragged across the trans or it was dragged numbers down. As for dj's statement, I wouldn't ever say never to either possibility.
