Coco Mats

Anyone have these? What do you think of the quality and appearance? How do they wear? Would you recommend them? Thanks

I just bought a set from Cocomats.com. They are much improved over the old Coco mats. These have a rubber backing so dirt doesn't fall through. They are expensive but fit perfectly and look great. -- Curt

Had a pair of the old version of coco mats and loved them. Am planning on getting a set of the new versions as well.

I love my Cocomats. I have a set in all my cars except for the Porsche (which will happen real soon) and I have given them as gifts to my father. Get them you will love them.

Love em!

I also have a set of these in my 1980 SC.. and I LOVE them. I've always been very hard on floor mats, and these don't slide around, don't seem to wear that badly (with that heavy rubber strip by the pedels. These I thinks are the ideal flor mat!

Good luck!

Very retro...

they are very cool, however..they will add 10lbs to the weight of your car.....

I was under the impression that coco mats were sort of superceded by sisal mats in the late '70's, (similar appearance but much better material, does not disintegrate), is this what you guys are talking about? I've always wanted sisal mats.

Cocomats were standard fare on the older 911s and I installed a neat set (black with brown weaving) in my 73 recently. They are tough, comfortable, easy to maintain, will wear much longer then other mats and were the same price or less. Cocomats. com is a great outfit to deal with and carry quality stuff. I recommend them.

Does anyone know if these new rubber-backed coco mats will fit in place of (instead of just over) the original floor mats?

Thanks,

Markus :p

How about shag carpet mats?

My novelty hanging disco ball is lonely and I don't want to get fondue on the original carpet :(

I have coco fiber mats in all of my cars, but in the Porsche, I have coco mats from Jeff at www.cocomats.com. The fit and materials of Jeff's mats are a world above any other manufacturer.....and the difference in cost is not that great. If you order from cocomats.com, it usually takes about three weeks until they ship out.

Agree with Steve and purchased a set for my S Type from Jeff. The quality is excellent and look great!

Another vote for cocomats.com. The quality and appearance are great. They fit perfectly and are priced reasonably. As Curtis said, though, they are incredibly heavy.

Markus33 12-02-2004 03:33 PM

*They are incredibly heavy*

That's one reason I'm wondering if the cut pattern is identical to the original mats so could just be used as replacements? Then lay them onto the metal floor?

I used Jeff @ cocomats.com for several of my cars in the past and now.

They are the BEST quality out there. They fit very good. However they don't quite cover the factory flooring mats. But it's not bad, at all.

I have linen interior and used black mats with taupe dots. Looks great.

My 4runner has solid balck herringbone and it looks great too.

Do it...

Do all of these "911 mats" take into account the A/C system? My car came with a set of mats that don't quite fit on the passenger side because the top of the mat hits the A/C. I've been thinking of ordering a set of these and didn't want to run into the same problem.

Targa mats in a coupe.

Thanks for posting that pic. I'd love to see more cocomat pics from others. I'm still trying to decide on the dot color for my black car. I think the top contender is black and grey or black and tan. I think black and red might be too much.

Silveresrty911S 12-02-2004 06:51 PM

I vote Black and grey, that's what I put in my Silver'77 and I love them. You'll need to set them in the sun and air them out. I can still smell them after more than a year. Every one that gets in my car says it smells like a new car. A very sturdy mat.
