MSD Guts in CDI Boxes

I have heard much discussion about people who are putting MSD guts in early Bosch CDI boxes, but I've never been able to come up with contact information for such a company.

Does anyone know who is doing this conversion?

It's been my understanding that this has been very popular among people running FIA historic cars.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Physically it doesn't make sense, but the pervasiveness of the rumor has led me to search for answers.

spray paint it silver

also what about the new msd box ?? it is smaller, so might work

or buy a refurbed Bosch unit - it has never been clear that the multi-spark msd is really better...

I appreciate the feedback, but I'm not looking for solutions to a problem, per se. I'm also not asking for recommendations on what I should do with my twin plug ignition system...I've got that sorted with all factory parts.

What I'm trying to find is information about the rumor I've heard that people have put MSD guts in Bosch housings.

Thanks!

It has been half a decade since I dealt with that portion of FIA vintage racing, but I used to have a number of European clients who were doing it. I know for a fact that it can be done but am not in a position to name names, not even in a private discussion off line.
