Nice video's Bell. You handle your car with a lot of finesse. That yellow 355 is just plain old mean.

Bell,

Your 911 looks like it's faster around that circuit than the F355. I watched it like 4 times and your moves are fluid and smooth. Everything looks deliberate, too.

Thanks for posting them.

SWEET!

Nice videos and you did look very fluid and quick! I don't think I would have done very well on that course...it looks pretty tight.

on the second run i had a friend i went to high school with who i haven't seen in 11 years in the passenger seat, he was there with his import so i offered him a ride
this also explains the cones flipping up behind me since i was just pushing it. there was a dip in the corner i spun in which i was hitting all day, i just missed it and the rear went around, and i was going a little too hot so i'm sure they both contributed.
the lot we run at has some great little hills in it (you can see them in the video) this creates a dimmension not normally seen at an autocross, nothing like an off camber downhill turn to keep you're skills up we run pca events there too which makes for 12 runs and done by 2pm, the next one is july 21st if anyone wants to come play.

forgot to mention....the ferrari was running on full race tires and the driver is the same guy who rolled and killed a twinturbo 996 last year at a nelsons ledges track day. he's our hero and he's an idiot........no wait he's our hero because he IS an idiot

Stuttgart - I don't know that i'll be doing an autocross anytime soon. But I enjoy hearing about other people's experiences.

I'm still "reflecting" back on my DE training last month. I learned a LOT, did some stupid things, but overall had a good time...it was also a reality check...I just don't want to lose it out there and wreck my car (or me). I went pretty slow. If I do it again, I'll stick with the "beginners" run sessions. My husband is thinking about doing it next summer.

Bell...don't mean to take away from your thread...but here are some pics for the heck of it of my DE last month.

Bell,

I believe your "hero" wrecked his Ruf-modified 993TT last year, not a 996. He's a crazy guy, but definately funny. The WRX wagon that was at Akron also belongs to him. He let a good friend of mine run it all day. Crazy or not, that's a nice guy.

Bell, you're obviously an excellent driver. Very smooth.

The ferrari...well, the car looks and sounds awesome. It wasn't quite as impressive doing the crab-drive into the tent though. I'd like to know the times of the cars...you know his best and how did you do?

cool videos, bell. that course looks ridiculously tight, though. looks like it's barely a 2nd gear reach...

Kurt - Don't feel like a Wuss!! I was not going that fast and spent a lot of time in the "please pass me lane." But I have to say...I did get the "line" down!!

that's what it was..the 993, now i remember, i watched the same car spin in front of me when i was in my civic at nelsons the year before. and i never said he wasn't a nice guy, i talk with him frequently in the grid. he just adds that certain element(and family wealth) which lets him play the way he does.
the course was a bit tight in some spots and wide open in others, with a questionable finish. the scca events have been getting REAL crowded (200+) for that lot so the've been making everything kinda tight. but our pca region runs the same lot and we get to use twice as much space and we get done by 2-3ish with 12 runs usually.

Kurt.....i think the ferrari was running 1-2 seconds faster than i was, they don't have the results posted yet. with race rubber, more tourque, and stiffer suspension (in the works) and i'll be running right with him i've only been driving my 911 since last september, i feel i'm getting a very good feel for it and am very confident in steering with the rear. all i can say is i'm a very happy porsche owner.

i've gained ALOT of knowledge/tracktime with the guy i crew for (anthony robinson) for 2 years, this year we're working on going pro so we haven't had much track time, if we get our new car soon we'll be ready to use this year as development and kick ass next year in grand-am.
