ignition points conversion

Hi all, is there anything special I should know about converting my old ignition points to a pertronic electronic ignition on my 73 911t, (with CDI). According to the instructions, it looks like the black wire connects to the neg side of the coil, (transformer), and the red wire to the pos side. Am I about to fry something or am I safe? Any help appreciated. Thanks g.

yeah thats not right, that is for a conventional ignition system, with cdi, the wires that came from the dissy gets plugged into pertronic unit. Wait, you already have a CDI Bosch set-up? and running points? I think you need the Crane unit

So, even tho I purchased the pertronic specifically designed for the 008 distributor, it may not be correct? Will it just not work or other issues? Thanks, g

you need a trigger that works with the cdi ignition, not a "normal" ignition, Pelican sells (well used to sell) the crane ignition trigger for CDI's. The coil works on +- 380V from the gismos in the box, i'm sorry, you will zap something bad if it works at all. Call pelican tech line for options. there might be a way to hook it up, how many wires come out of the dissy and where do they go? pics would help
