Floor Pan replacement questions 70T coupe

I have a barn find that had the front suspension pan replaced by the PO, but the rest of the pans are in need of replacement. I have researched many threads ect, contacted Restoration Designs for a shipping quote to Hawaii ect. I recently made contact with a Porsche fan on the Big Island who has a rust free pan from a 70 Targa. He has offered to cut out the floor with the rockers and the area that I need most, the area around the brake master/pedals. My question is, are the pans the same, I know the floor boards are different from the targa and coupe....does anyone care to comment on using pans from a existing original car verse purchasing after market restoration pans? Is the install easier or more difficult? Your advise is greatly appreciated.

Regards-

JS

I have a 70T and 88 Targa and I can tell you that the areas in question are different. Targas being open cars had to be reinforced down below since here is no roof. Lot of extra metal. Just me, but I would prefer to use Restoration Designs new metal pieces for the coupe.

One thing about new metal...no rust to start with!!
Resto Designs stuff is first class in my book...but there are some pieces that might need a little trimming when installed.
This can be a good thing...because it gives you a little wiggle room in the weld area.
Sometimes butt welding can be a real chore...and an overlap weld is much easier to do (unless it's behind something...LOL).

As already mentioned, Targa and coupe have different sheet steel welded to the floorpan. I also would not cut one out of an old car and put in another car. Seems a bit silly to me. Get the Restoration Design panels.
