For clarification, the OP indicated that the car is a '70 E with a '73 T motor, so the "original motor" appears to be gone. Probably not much value in retaining a '73 T motor for a '70 E car.

$1000 P&Cs - I believe these are the QSCs? There is a fair amount of information on this forum about these Chinese parts. Pros and cons.

Brakes - You should check to see which calipers you have. "M" or "S". Use a magnet. If it sticks, they're M, if not, they're S. That's the easiest way if you don't know the difference visually. Either way, they are fine for a street car, regardless of motor. If you ever want to DE, you should step up to S or A.

Modern Porsches get gonzo brakes because they are HEAVY.....and have high speed potential.

To slow down your hot rod, PMB has a bolt on brake upgrade that will give you "S" brake capability on your stock spindles. I swear by my PBM caliper upgrade every time some tourist pulls a blind U-turn on the coast highway and cuts me off. I enjoy the reduced pedal pressure too. I did mine in black anodize to make them stealth and blend well with the Fuchs. I run over 200 HP with my 930/10 and I was not comfortable with the capability of the "M" calipers. Also, this upgrade is a lot more budget friendly than spending thousands on other brake upgrades & rebuilding the suspension. I have not broadsided a weekend tourist yet. Just M2CW.

If you are going the engine swap, go 3.2 or higher, I have driven a 3.0 and my 72 with rs p/c's, solex cams, etc is faster.

Just got the car home. Its pretty solid but needs a front pan which I knew. It has the 7R case which I think might be a good starting point. Are these really anything special?
