pedal board missing?

I've just got a "new" '82 911SC, and find there is no wooden board behind the pedals!!!
Is this missing or was it never there in 82? I can press the clutch pedal right down to the carpet with nothing to limit travel.
Previous vehicles had a board with a travel limit bar!
It drives fine, but should I fit a board??? Thanks, Algernon

Can't speak for an '82, but my '80 SC has the board. I would replace it to have the pedal stop for the clutch pedal.

The lack of throttle pedal stop is even more worrying.

The reverse link for the throttle linkage is carried pn the pedal bos which is only 1mm thick and easy to bend.

If the box does bend then the push rod from the pedal to the reverse link can jam onto the tunnel and cause the throttle to stick open - quite scarey!!

You should have a board. Pelican has some various types of replacements available. I would not drive without something limiting the clutch or gas pedal travel.

I have the board in mine but my pedal travel is limited by my short ass legs. Doh!

If you can't push the clutch to the floor with the ball of your foot and still have the knee slightly bent, then your seat is too far back.
