Roundup goers
Well, all bets are off...
Life is just not playing nice. My father had another MRI the other day and it isn't looking good. The tumor is notably bigger and his symptoms are getting worse. My mother called me the other night to let me know and I just cannot justify going on vacation when my father is sick. We were half way into this trip....already in California... it can't be helped. I just hope no one is put off at me for not showing up to the roundup. I'm so dissapointed not to be going, but again, as much as I want to meet you guys, there will always be time to meet car guys, but I may not get allot of time with my father. We were hoping that he may not have any changes for several more years. It appears that that is ot the case. Erin and I are flying out tomorrow morning from San Francisco and will stay in Tennessee until we have to come back to CA to pick up the truck and trailer and go back home to Idaho. Yesterday, I also asked Erin to marry me. (Applause) ![]() And I want her to meet my father before it's too late. Guys, I am so sorry. Life is just not going to throw me a bone on this one. I emailed Doug two days ago but have not heard back from him. If any of you Roundup goers read this, would you please pass the message along in case he is too busy to get online. Paul, Shawn, Matt,, I'll make it up to you. There is always next year. Salute,

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad's condition becoming worse. I know exactly how you feel. I know we all wish him the best and you the best in dealing with this turn in events.
You didn't say whether Erin accepted! I assume she did. so congratulations.

I have a crystal clear memory of Erin's picture. A babe, no doubt, and not just in physical beauty. Congratulations.
I also recall telling you how I envy your relationship with Dad. I am very sorry to hear about his illness, and I wish you godspeed in getting to where he is. All of you, Erin, Dad, Mom, will be in my prayers. And we'll look forward to seeing you, Leland, when that works out.

I have been busy with work and the last minute details for the Round-Up. I just replied to your e-mail; sorry for the delay. We're all very sorry about your Dad. Your friends will miss you at the Round-Up, but understand the situation. All our thoughts are with you, Erin, and your folks.

Lee? You very eloquently let us know how little our day to day problems and adventures really mean. Lee? We, all of us on the board who feel we know you, love you & yours...do what you must. I wish I had a magical way to add to your already ample inner strength right now. Online hugs..best wishes, and Orygun will be here whenever you feel like seeing it. Terry & Pam? You "done good"...you brought Leland into this world...and you raised him well!

Lee,
I too am saddened to hear the news. Just be reassured that you are doing the right thing. We will definitely be raising a few glasses in your honor at the round-up this weekend. |

Leland,
I am going throught he same see saw news with my mother. She was cancer free for a year, but now they suspect it is back. I guess its time to put my two boys back to work on the prayer line. They have a direct connection. My family will pray each night for your father and my mother. The last time we prayed for your father, my seven year old Matt said "Who is Leland Pate?" Imagine how hard it was to explain to him that you were a friend of mine that I have never met. I told him about you going overseas to protect his right to walk around free. So, take solace in the fact that each test for us, is a life lesson for someone else. Congratulations on your good news. The nose ring doesn't really bother you that much. After a while you won't even remember it's there!! See Ya, Mark

Leland,
Just heard the news via Paul, and had to drop by the board to both congratulate and pray for you and your family. You did the right thing, as some things just can't wait. Hope your father makes it through this.
