Rear view mirror?

Ok,
I removed the windshield due to cracks and a shrinking seal, causing leaks. A while I am there thing was the dash, more cracks than a Rodney Dangerfield act. Well I replaced the crack monster with a nice George T. redo, eliminating the now useless A/C vent and ducting.
So all is well the new/old NOS PPG window I got on craigslist from a glass shop that was getting rid of excess stock for $75.00 add a Pelican OEM rubber seal and whammo, new un-cracked, no leak windscreen! So now I have the rear view mirror choice, there is the old beat up stocker, not the best choice, or a new OEM/aftermarket mirror.

I recently bought an aftermarket Gentex that auto dims and has the HomeLink buttons. I ran the wires for it when I had the headliner out and replaced the front windshield.

The Gentex is a little bigger than the stock mirror. It does create a problem with the sun visors. Mounting at the normal position for the button won't let you pull down the visors. If you mount it low enough. to clear them, it is too low and a bit obstructive to your view when driving.

I'm still trying to figure out a solution to the dilemma. Someone suggested deleting the visors altogether and installing one of those visor strips.

By the way, I haven't had good luck with the button glue I got at the local FLAPS. Just ordered some stuff online and it came in yesterday.
