7&8 inch fuchs tire street/track 911 sc question

hey everyone,

im heading back to the track this year with a bit different setup.
im running full elephant suspension street track setup with 22-29 torsion bars, sway bars, ect ect- the whole package. my fenders have been rolled ane the wheels are 16 inch.
i would like a fairly aggressive track tire but something i can also enjoy on the street from time to time.

anyone have any recommendations on tire size and tires people are running?

Standard for those rims are 225/45 and 245/45s. Hoosier runs a bit wider over Kumhos.....back when I was running regular I got my rubber from Tire Rack.

They have a decent selection of race and DOT legal slicks. They also have reviews as far as they can be trusted.

i run 205/55 225/50 hankook ventus rs-3 for the exact reason you listed - wanted something better for the track but still streetable. there is a noticeable difference between the hankooks and the yoko avid v4s i run on my other wheels. stiffer sidewall, way more "stickieness" (i pick up all loose gravel i come into contact with) and no complaints of road noise.

In my experience....if you care....run what you run on the street.

Why experience high speed corners with specialty tires and try to duplicate it on the street with different tires. Unless that is what you want to do and know that the street is different.

16s are hard to find for those wheels. It may change.....but know the limits.

If you are going to run fast on the street or do on/off ramps mas rapido....get some AX or DE training. All of my track collisions have been behind people that have new tires and don't know their limits, spins or mechanical failures......my street screw ups following someone are a different issue.

you are not the brightest bulb in the world if you drive on the street like you drive on the track, and hopefully if you do you don't live near me. those types of people scare me. track days and de events are there for a reason, relatively cheap and readily available. i think i could do one almost every weekend this summer in my state and those that surround it.

the ventus perform quite well on the track and are probably overkill for the street but still usable so long as you are not out driving in sub-40 degree weather. they don't like the cold.
