Early 911 rear seat "surround"? Question
Saw this pic on magnus walkers site, I have only seen these a few times before, but does anyone know what these lower seat back surround-things are called? Were they available from the factory, or some aftermarket item? I have seen like a million interior early 911 photos but literally only seen these things like one other time... I would love to get a pair of them to tie the front seat center material I go with into the rear.
Any help is appreciated! ![]() |

I understand Porsche used it on the prototype 901 cars but it did not make it to production with the cloth. Page 63 of Brett Johnson's book shows a single colour vinyl and that appears to be how the early cars were all delivered.

hmm interesting, anyone know where to buy the shells?? or are they a custom-made kinda thing... I kinda like how it finished off the carpeted area at the bottom of the seats, would do them in the basketweave to match the front seats I am getting...

I have never seen them before but they are cool looking. Not sure what your skills are with a sewing machine but they don't look that hard to make. If you can get a few yards of fabric that match your seats I would stuff them with maybe 2 or 3 thin layers of pillow stuffing and close up the seam. if you get the sheets of stuffing you can just cut it to shape and slip it right in. I would then maybe put 2 or 4 snaps on the back and rivet the other side to the chassis to hold them down. If you dont want to hack into the car like that Velcro will work as well.
Try a PM or email to magnus and see if he will simply tell you what they are. Regards Dave
