911 SC: searching for PO
Hi fellow Pelicans,
I am a happy owner of an 81 911 SC from California. I would love to find out a bit of the history of this car, but I have no clue how this could be done. I am attaching two pics of the car - maybe I am lucky :-). From the papers the previous owner could be a guy called John Denker from San Diego, but not entirely sure on this either. Many thanks for hints how I could find out more, Best Gogo22 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1367006987.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1367007003.jpg |
There is a dept of the DMV that allows you to ask them about prior owners. There is a small fee. I did this and came up with the last 2 owners of my SC. Google the CA dmv site.

Here is the form from the california dmv to request previous three owners:

Hey Gogo, that is my car :-) I only owned it briefly in Santa Cruz, Ca. It looks great! I now have a 996 Targa. That was my 2nd SC, I wanted to restore it but it had many problems including a pulled head stud. I loved the color. Did you restore it yourself? There was a piece of wood screwed to the clutch pedal from the old lady who had it before me. lol. I sold it to a guy in SF who sent them to Europe. Im glad it went home.
P.S- The dealer I bought it from was called Beach Auto Sales in Santa Cruz, CA. The owner was named Joe. I think he was selling it on consignment, so he may know more about the previous owner. John Denker is interesting since my father's name was Jon, but he never saw this car. Ich hoffe alles gute bie dir. Tschuss! |
