Carrera Oil Cooler repair....

Yes, I did a search.....both here and advanced with a Google search.

I dug out an oil cooler that was involved in an ouchie at Willow Springs. Been sitting in a box up on a shelf. Spring cleaning don't ya know.....

I think it is beyond the local radiator guy. I remember seeing a thread for a cooler repair magician. Anyone have a link or even better a contact?

Thanks.

**** mike...btw... did you just pressure test with a garden hose or something to look for leaks prior to contacting them? id so, i should probably do somethin like that before contacting them. i can see some smashed coils just by eye..but the pelican i bought it from said there were no leaks!!

thanks frank

I ran it after the fender bender.....leaked pretty good. The worst part was the tweak. Hell, I'll just cut and paste it...

Thank you for the photos.

Unfortunately, there is no effective way to straighten the oil cooler when it is twisted like that. You may be able to press it flat again, but it may fail at some later point in time.

If it were only a matter of the damaged oil passes, I would say to leave them as they are, so long as they’re not leaking. Again, this is because aluminum does not like to be re-bent and straightened.

In my humble opinion, this cooler needs to be retired.

Please let me know what questions you’ve got.

Sincerely,

Wayne Thomas
