Reproduction fuel tank reviews...Anyone?
Hi guys, I would like to know if anyone has bought one of the repro gas tanks sold on this site. If so, what kind of quality are they and are there any issues to note? I ask because I have to possibly replace my tank due to rust.

Problems reported regarding location and of filler neck. Tanks are thinner than OEM material, uncoated. The alternatives being; source a used tank or refurbish your current unit.
Here was my situation:Fuel Tank Debris and Drain Replacement I ended up taking mine to a local engine rebuilder and having the unit put in the hot tank for cleaning after I used a small chain to remove loose rust from the interior, worked out nicely. Really softened up the exterior for removal of the factory coating. The I used the POR15 fuel tank refurb kit, and used regular POR15 on the exterior of the tank.

I bought one from this site last year and had no issues as far as the filler neck. Can't comment on much else since I haven't done anything with my car in the past 3 years. My step dad installed the tank for me.
