will Carrera 3.2 front brakes fit onto a 72 911T?
Hi guys,
I bought a set of front calipers from an 87 911 for my 912E. However, I can't use them because they would kick me out of the Street Prepared class I want to autocross in. But, my roommate has a 72 911T. Would they fit his car? I have a set of essentially brand new rotors too. If they will fit, we're going to keep them for his car. If not, I guess I'm just going to resell them. Thanks, David

Measure the distance between the mounting holes for the calipers. Early cars are 3" apart, Carerra's are 3.5". Unless the struts have been replaced/upgraded the Carrera calipers will not fit.
The other issue is the thickness of the rotor. The T uses a ~20mm wide rotor and the Carreras are ~24MM. SC brakes are in between, they have the thinner rotor but the wider bolt spacing. Todd |
