Oil Leak
Just rebuilt my 2.4 911 S engine and now have a massive oil leak some where around the right side of my engine towards the oil cooler. Did an Inspection, but found that it was alittle wet around the mating surface of the CAM-housing to head. IF that is the problem, Is there anything I can do.
Not the Oil cooler. Thanks Eric |

it's not unusaul to screw up the gasket position under the cam thrust plate. better than a #8 o ring leak. you just have to go in and fix it. should take you 2-3 hours since you've already done it before. other than the cooler, and oil lines, there's not much that would massively leak on that side. clean it off with spray brakeclean and watch with a flashlight when you fire it up again. rocker shafts, valve covers, engine mounted thermostat, breather hose, usually are small leaks. check the cam oil hose fittings again, as well as the cam line fitting below the banjo.

Eric,
Is it possible that you left off/out the plug at the forward end of the spray bar in the cam housing? Or, how about the front threaded plug that corresponds to the inlet fitting that the banjo fitting goes to in the cam housing?

Good suggestions. I can verify that even a true GENIUS can make the mistake of not placing the cam thrust plate gasket into position properly. Even after being warned, I know of a guy who made this mistake.
