ventilator motor help, '82 911SC
My front fresh-air ventilator motor seems dead. Sliding the top dash lever to the right over the I, II, III positions puts a ground short to motor socket (on harness) pins 2,3,4 as expected. Also there is 12volts on pin 1 as expected. If I put 12v (from charger) across motor PLUG pins themselves, the motor never spins. So dead motor! How do I get the housing apart? Help please!

Disconnect two hoses, the slide cable, unplug, and remove two bolts one on either side of the motor housing, remove housing. Pry off the four round clips to separate the halves.
Disregard the arrows ( only picture i could find) ![]()

Thanks, Pete,
I assume once I get the two halves apart I can extract the motor itself and see if it is repairable? Algernon |

if you do some searches you can find an old write up of using a generic motor old by NAPA to replace it. it requires some minor modification.
