External voltage regulator question
 

Hi all,

I have a '78 SC with the original Marchal alternator I just had rebuilt a second time. It friend again because my regulator was bad (had it tested)

I can't for the life of me get an external regulator for a '78. All parts stores list an internal. Ordered it by chance and got an internal one.

I looked up a '77 and saw the pic and it shows an external with what looks like the same plug. Can I just use one for a 77 911S?
