Spark plug replacements?

What thinks ye?
Sounds promising!

Federal Mogul's ACIS re-defines the 'spark plug' for dilute/lean combustion

Sounds like Snake Oil!!
It looks like a transistorized ignition system (been around for ages) paired with some new design on the tips of the plugs.
Amount of spark will not cure any "lean" running that I can think of.
Fuel/air ratios are the area of intake and fuel delivery.
If you have a combustible ratio in the cylinder...the spark will fire it...how well depends on the position of the plug in the chamber...and the size of the spark.
Once the mixture has been ignited...the rest is up to the design of the chamber and the top of the piston (engine design).
Increasing the size of the spark will only cure a bad system...if your regular system is getting full combustion...no new system is going to improve it.

Fed. Mogul is a huge parts supplier - I doubt they would want to jeopardize their industry position for snake oil

the "Corona Ignition" part is worrisome tho - what if the thing ignites the Sun's Corona?

Was rummaging around on the SAE website and saw this, thought it looked interesting, since ignition advance and combustion front propagation are indeed real, our higher performance cars use dual plugs to solve the issue. Anything using plasma, lasers and or things that go bang are of interest....
