Hi!
Wayne and I (wife) were thinking about organizing a "Pelican Drive", so I volunteered to organize it and get some feedback from you. "The First Annual Pelican Drive to Santa Barbara". Here's an idea: Meet at Pelican early, say 8 am, then drive up the 101 N, just before Santa Barbara take a nice, windy road through the mountains to Montecito for brunch/lunch. Then it's Santa Barbara on your own... Seeing from the other post for a drive this Sunday, it seems like there is interest... Here are some questions for you... September or October? Saturday or Sunday? Deposit to secure your spot (for lunch)? about $15 General feedback! Thanks for your input! -Nori |

late September or anytime in October (the best SoCal months, but don't tell anybody). Early is good so those with families can get back and still have most of the day.

I would love to participate. I can be pretty flexible as long as I know a little in advance.

Great idea getting together, but how 'bout some shorter drives in the future? Maybe something local?
There's a meeting of SouthBay/L.A. 993/911 Rennlisters on Sunday, Aug 4 in Redondo Beach at Rocky Cola Cafe at 0700 for breakfast then drive at 0800. See Rennlist 993 bb for details. Would love to join you in future for some short runs. Mike '86 Coupe |

I'll definitely try to make it! I'll make my wife go too. I like Sundays for drives. Early is great.

Great idea... October sounds good because of the show in Ventura on Sep 14-15....but other Sep weekends open... will Pelican have a booth or display in Ventura?

I think it's a great idea. If it's a one-way trip to Santa Barbara, I think Saturday is better because it gives people the option of staying there for the rest of the weekend before driving back.

Count me in! It's a pretty short drive from here in TO, but there are some great driving roads between her and Santa Barbara. Maybe we can reciprocate in the future with a ride to those fantistic roads in San Diego and Orange counties.

Are all Porsches invited? Bimmers too? I second the idea of putting a little space between the Sept 14 and drive dates.
