How to fit a bra??

I own a 78 SC Targa. I got a Colgan bra for my birthday. When I tried to put it on, I got everything to fit perfectly - except the hood wouldn't close all the way. I tried adjusting the hood latch as far as I could, but still the hood wouldn't latch tight. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You have to keep working with it.

Had the same problem. Its a tight fit from the part over the hood. I have to push hood down to where the safety latch catches then push down hard where the front hood badge is. Sometimes it takes a couple pushes.

BTW, playtex is looking at putting velcro on bras instead of the metal peices b/c of the liability claims where people have been injured getting the bra off in the heat passion.

DrewT - Did you adjust your hood latch as far as it would go, too? I was concerned about forcing the hood when it appeared the fit was too tight along the channel between the hood and body. Thanks.

Johnjr,
I adjusted the latch but not as far as it would go. I am not slamming the hood down but really, after engaging the safety latch, pushing pretty hard.

Charlie,

I don't fully understand the technique. Where are the pictures?

Just put a Colgan bra on my 87 cab. It is a tight fit. First I put the bra in the sun for 30 minutes to make it more pliable. I too had the problem with the latch, finally adjusted it all the way up, that did the trick. Able to close hood with a little pressure. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input rmurph. I let it sit in the sun for a while, too, but maybe not long enough. I'll give it a try...

Ryan,

Unfortunately there are no "in process" photographs, but the left-hand menus do lead to some photos of completed projects:

Certainly not as thorough as Wayne's book, but I'd say at least it's a "C+" effort!

Cheers!

Thanks Charlie! I think a C+ is a fair grade.
Sam, things sure can be taken out of context can't they? What about the gap?
