Ultimate Air Box for the MFI Stacks

The day before Hershey (19 April), my special package arrived from Kundensport. Ed Palmer created a set of Porsche 908 air boxes for the 1972-73 MFI stackes. The real 908's were designed for the 8 cylinder. Ed sized them for the MFI and created them to use the original clips.

If you wish to buy the same product, just call Ed at Kundensport and place your order. I saw his concept on the 911 ST, white in color where he used them on the 1969-71 MFI stacks. I asked for a base that fit the 72-73 stacks and Ed created them. All I had to remove was the rubber seal in the tops of the stacks to allow the base to fit in and clamp down using the stock clips. Drove the car up to Hershey and showed them to the Pelican Parts gang that linked-up at the crab shack. I must find a filter similar shape to the K&N, but rather have paper like the standard Frame and toss away every year. I'll remove them and take photos of the base and inside next.

As the second to last sentence states, I'm looking for a filter to tuck inside. These were designed for the 908 race motor without filters. Once I find a set or make something, I'll diffidently update this page.

BTW - the blue is different for sure.

I found some air filters and put them on order, once I get them installed Ill provide the photos.

I received the round 9 inch x 2 inch Spectre HPR air filters today from Jeggs (best price at $16.99 each & free S/H).
They fit "perfect" and now street safe. Kundensport in CA makes these, just call Ed Palmer and place your order and then order the air filters from Jeggs. Now I can enjoy the performance, sound, and when viewing the engine...see the entire MFI system. The stock plastic air box will go in moth balls.
