might sell my SC

Kind of a wishy-washy for sale ad, I know, but lack of employment in my fickle career this year combined w/ recent medical problems force me to consider selling much loved SC. It is a 118k miles '82 coupe, pretty clean, original paint(Slate blue), looks new from 20 feet but not up close. Still shiny and beautiful, though, not sunburnt. Has carrera oil cooler in frt. fender, s.s. brake lines w/ slotted rotors and mintex pads, factory sport shocks(bilstein greens still excellent), lowered to euro-spec, aligned and corner balanced + turbo tie rods by L.A. 911 suspension guru in 2002, A/c compressor and rear condensor removed currently but in garage, (compressor shot), all knobs and switches feel like new car. Zero rust or accidents.

Car runs beautifully but has one(1) broken head stud, opinions differ on how urgent this is, but it will need to be addressed as well as other upgrades(tensioners, etc.). Original 915 is decent but needs rebuild at some point, 1st syncro bad and balky to second at times. What I cannot stress enough is that the car starts, runs and drives beautifully as it currently sits, one of best handling, tightest stock SCs I have ever been in. (Among dozens, if not more). Price $12,000. Car in L.A., CA., must be inspected and picked up here. Thanks.

Sorry to see your "sort-of ad" Denis (and I was out doing errands with the family when you called). For those that are interested, I can attest to the fact that Denis' car is a great driver...it is one of the tighter cars I've tested. I also think he's being too harsh on the tranny...I found both 1st and second to be pretty well behaved. A good entry into the SCWDP.

Nice car Denis, fair price. It should sell, unfortunetly for you. No way around it, huh? You dont know what you have till its gone! Unless your upgrading.

Denis,

I'm really sorry to hear of your troubles. I went through some rough times last year and had to sell my first 911.

Just remember that all this bad stuff is temporary and that good things will come back in to your life if you leave an open door. My life today is much better than it ever has been, and I'm sure your fortunes will turn for the better as well.
Stay strong,
Mark

Thanks a lot, guys. I really like this car, had big plans for it, but if it sells I will have another soon enough I hope. I have spent my life as a (sometimes employed) actor, house painter, restaurant manager, car salesman(Porsche in the 80s), etc. You get the picture. Wouldn't trade any of it, always interesting, but this year is tough so far. Last year chicken, this year feathers.

BTW, dog not included, (and he does not ride in this car, too small), only pic I have on computer. I'm trying to post interior shot; how can a 640x480 be over 100k file size? Oh well. You guys are the best.

Thanks, Todd, here's a couple more I just took:

I would like to sell to a Pelicanhead, it's an awesome car but will need some work eventually that if done DIY will work out well for new owner.
