A V8 coversion that has over 40k invested?
 

Somethings just make me laugh. "Over 40K invested"???????
Is that "beefed up" trans a beefed up fiero trans? A 3 inch exhaust on what looks like a 300hp motor........ how insanely loud is that? what a damn shame.

Does Wayne sell roll bars for our engine compartment? Sounds like a great upgrade.

Loud exhaust? How about the fact that the engine is in the driver's compartment.

Loud and dangerous.

It looks like the fan blades are blowing all that...um..hot air downwards into the engine compartment.

Rear window? What rear window? I figure if he already burned himself a $40,000 hole he should be able to supply a rear window!

Granted, tranverse small block in back seat doesn't do anything for me, but what about reversing the engine/transaxle in a 911 for a mid engine 911? Build a firewall behind the seats for protection. Who uses the back seat anyway?

The weight distribution of a mid engine 914 with 911 looks? Will it fit? Has anyone done that? Or am I not thinking clearly because it's almost midnite and tomorrow is friday?

I have to say a transversely mounted V-8 in a Porsche.. thats pretty impresive heck! thats very impressive..... I have never seen that before.. I'm looking at the Engineering envoved..
I also have to add that I don't see any expenses wasted no corners cut to do what this guy or girl did.. Yes it's nice to me would I buy it? No. But it does look like a screamer..
40K Hmmmm I don't know about that, I can think of alot I can do with those kinds of bones... for me it wouldn't be this project But I have to hand it to this person, IT'S NOT BAD, NOT BAD AT ALL

Come on people, give an inch, take a mile. What's becoming of the dedication to the breed. Transverse engine in an early 911? O.k., here's a hypothetical: a s.b. 350 in a Ferarri 308 to save a couple of grand.
Would you accept it without judgement?
Leave the Hondas to the Hondas-great commuter vehicle, low maintenance, great milage, cheap.
But a personality far different to the pcar and not to be confused. There's no such thing as an American/Japanese vehicle anymore. The part's are produced and assembled all over the world. If your buying a pcar because of the milage/dealer options(i.e. cup holder or seats) You're either sadly mistaken or thankfully contributing to the continuation of a sport specific-design company.
Leave the perfect commuter cars to themselves and the continuance of classic historical elagance to it's own peculiarities. How much blending will there be before Porsche looks like Ferrari -oops sorry- or a Lexus. How about a P51 Mustang with couple of 707 engines duct taped to the wings? Everything hopefully works itself out in the end.
BTW- The picts for the SB Pcar car look very luxurious and well done, and I'm sure fun to drive. Excepting the non-painted lid and the neon yellow it is no doubt a well done job. It just belongs in a different car.

Just a guess...
Looks like a Fiero engine cradle may have been used. If this is the case, and a Fiero tranny was also used, there may be some handling issues due to the unequal length drive axles.
This is well documented by the V8 Archie Fiero owners. The tranny seems to take the torque though, wich is good thing.
I wouldn't have done it, but it's nice to see the engineering and craftmanship of a properly done swap. Most folks don't realize going in that a correctly done swap take a LOT of time AND money.

Why do people worry so much about how much money somebody has invested in a project and whether or not it's "stupid"? It's his money, and good for him--granted I didn't bother to go look at the eBay photos. One man's Picasso is another's crayon doodles.

Generaly a nice idear but I wouldn´try to sale such a testmule built on a rust bucket.

I rember in the late 70´s a american ( texas ain´t direct america ? ) buying a brandnew 930 and implanting a methyl runing Can Am engine with the Moon injector tubes sohwing out of the rear window. The cars color was candy red and everything was done in perfection. As a fine detail he used a sterling silver "Flachmann" ( personal canister ? ) filled with AVGas needed to fire up the engine.
I think the trany was from a Olds Tornado.

Well on this car something like inflation happend ( maybe 40 000 pesoos ? ) or the company who made to work pulled the owner way over the table.
