Could an 86 Carrera come with a g50 tranny

I'm looking at a 86 coupe and it has a g50 tranny which the owner said it came with from the factory. He said it was a late model 86 and it came with the g50. Could this be true?

This will be a good one.....how "late"? what's the VIN? G50 started with the '87 production,..however,..you never "know"...

Production on the 87's with the G50 actually began in fall 1986. Check the vin that its an 87 model but it is possible the car was produced in 86. My own was produced in October 86 but its an 87model
