78 sc need wiring help
Hey guys, Happy memorial day.
Does anyone have a picture of the wiring and how it gets connected from the headlight thru the sidewall hole in the cargo area to the harness in that same compartment? I am at my wit's end trying to figure this out. Here is why I am in this dilemma to begin with because I know the questions will start flying. My car is a ROW with a questionable history and high likely hood of having parts from other cars on it. That being said, I have tried to connect the wiring according to their respective colors and the only thing that seems to come on according to the switch position are the parking lights. However if i turn the left blinker on I get the left headlight and they both come on with the flash-to-pass switch when pulled. I know I am doing something wrong because I don't have any owners manual for this car so I don't even know what all the indicators in the gauges mean such as the one with the lamp icon in the odometer. Any help from any knowledgeable electrical guru would be worth a beer or six. Please oh Peliconians, help me get this sorted. P.S. Don't think I haven't tried to but I really don't know how to read the pelican wiring schematic so if your going to direct me to it please try to explain what I am looking at because all the numbers make no sense to me. Thanks guysSmileWavy - Norm |
Maybe this helps: here is a picture of the wiring inside my headlight bucket. The car is an all original 79SC US model. Yours is probably the same.
