Painting rear center reflector 1974

I plan on painting the rear center reflector on my 1974 RSR IROC clone. Two questions:

1. It's plastic so what's the best prep and primer?
2. It's in really good shape, so I'm open to trading anyone with a complete but faded one if interested. Anyone?

I am about to replace my faded one which would be perfect for painting. Not sure if it fits a '74 though. Mine is on an '83 SC. I just bought a replacement one.
