Classic Le Mans
Is anyone going to the Classic Le Mans on the weekend of the 21st September?

I'm thinking about it - sounds like it could be pretty cool. Thing is I went to the real Le Mans in June (in my 71 T) and the weekend before I'm going to the 914 'International' in Bourmouth, so I might be a bit knackered.

This is the first I've heard of it!!!! Where is it if its not Le Mans? Hey - any of you UK guys know of where to get your dials cleaned up / repaired? SpeedyCables is the only one I know of!!!

I think this is the first time they have run this event. It is on the Le Mans circuit and they will be racing cars from all eras in fields of five. The racing will start on Saturday afternoon and be run over periods of two hours all through the night and into Sunday afternoon.
For Porsche owners you are recommended to book through the French Owners Club and they are offering free grandstand seats, free paddock entrace and lots of other bonuses. The problem is that you have to get your application to them before the end of this month. |

Phil,
Do you have any more info about the weekend in Bournemouth. That’s where I live and if a few of you are coming down it would be good to meet up. The freshly restored 1971 911S will be on the road for then as well. Anyone else going? Would love to make the classis but I'm off to the states. Any of our US neighbours fancy meeting up in CA. Land in San Fran then a 10 day road trip before hopefully going to Phoenix and then fly home from LA. Hmm what Porsche items will I find_big grin. Alan.UK |

Probably won't go to the Le Mans event but I will certainly be in Bournemouth for the weekend before.

When I said 'real' Le Mans - I ment to real 24 hour race held in June every year (you know the one that Audi always wins)

My car is actually garaged in Bournemouth so I'm down there quite often. Also never seen a 914 in the flesh before so this will be fun!!!!!!!
