He's not going to reach that from the headlight bucket.

eh. You'd better remove the right front wheel instead. You might also get a better paintless dent removal guy.

Your PDR guy is thinking conventionally and treating the 911 like a modern car. In his mind he wants to insert a long enough tool to reach the dent have the tool parallel to the top of the fender and the pick end perpendicular to the top of the fender. He'll sight down the top of the fender and use the headlamp bucket for a fulcrum. Problem is that isn't going to work. -J

No need to remove headlight.

You will want to raise the front of the car so the wheel will hang down from the suspension. The PDR guy can use the top of the tire for leverage.

He might want to lower the car some for better positioning or use a small block of 2" x 4" for a spacer on the tire.

He will *possibly* have to work around the lines to the fender oil cooler. That dent looks pretty high though.

My guess is he wants the headlight out so he can either drill a hole in the back of the bucket for access and leverage or *possibly* use an existing wiring harness hole for access.

If you talk with the dent guy and have clear communication he shouldn't need to do ANY drilling.

I work with PDR guys on a regular basis while providing detailing and other services for my clients.

Be willing to pay a little bit more or help with access and the results will be better.

If the dent guy is unwilling to work with you find another one!

There is VERY little need to ever drill a hole on a G series 911 for dent access!!

That dent wholesale looks to be a $50- $60ish repair. That's assuming you're a regular client and send business his way.

Retail with the guy coming to you and jacking the car up etc. I would expect $120-$150. Totally reasonable.

Best of luck with getting it straightend out.

Thanks for you input guys,he quoted me $80.00 for the work.

With all you said and him telling me that the paint might crack since it's 25 years old, I will put this on hold for a while.
Should I wait until it's warmer and let the car in full sun for the paint to be more flexible before someone try to work on it.

If it's an original paint car and the dent isn't too sharp at the center I wouldn't worry about the paint cracking.

(can't see your pic. very well viewing from iPhone)

Deep dents and sharp dents have the hugest likely hood of paint cracking because the PDR person has to push hard on a small area.

I wouldn't worry too much.
