1969 912 battery, can't find a fit

I am trying to get a nice fitting battery for the 69/912. The 22nf that is supposed to work is too tall. I would rather not but an Oddessy type battery. I have tried several that the books said were right but they aren't. The original batteries were 6.88 wide & high, 8.19 long. Everything I find is a little too tall. Any help, ideas?

The Interstate Battery Web Site shows an Megatron 2 (Part # MT-51R) for your car:

Interstate Batteries Results Page - Automotive / Truck 1969 Porsche 912

As alternatives they suggest a PN 911 or a SP-22NF.

67 is different, mine is 69.
That battery is almost 9" tall. It won't fit. Box is 7" tall. I have already ordered, tried , and returned that battery.
Remember orig was 6.8 x 6.8 x 8.2, and that fits snug!

I have a 69 912. The battery box is 9 1/4 x 8 1/8 x 7 1/4 inches high.

I got a Duralast Gold from Autozone and it was a perfect fit.
Dimensions 7x7x9 1/2. Cost was $110.

I don't know what my problem is. Duralast Gold says its 8 3/4" high. I have a 7 1/2" battery that won't fit? This is bone stock car and no battery I have found will fit?

Do like I did & take a tape measure with you into the store & measure the batteries on the shelf. This is what I did & got the battery with the dimensions on my previous post. The clerks don't have a clue as to what will fit your car.
