Any idea where this part is from?
 
I have a rubber plug, not a grommet because it is closed at one end.
This is the number as I can read it off the part:

I thought I saw something like that at the tunnel exit while I was futzin' with the shift linkage last night...just right of the big hole for the shift linkage.

found it in the driver's side pocket, so I am thinking it's for something inside the car.

Perhaps a picture with a ruler would give a better perspective as to the size.

Take a look all around the doors top sides and bottom. looks to be an access plug.

Wrong, that plug is a flat plug. I just finished up wiring the switch when I took the pic., so I didn't have time to put it back on.

Maybe in the future I should post this as mystery part.

Looking at the shape you would think that if it is a plug, that it would be more flatish?
