Winter is finally gone, dont forget to check for mice- photo

Pulled the car out of the garage for a spring run and it was running hot. Pulled the shroud covers and found this massive nest packed around the oil cooler and last cylinder.

This pic will be the go-to whenever any of use refer a user to the issue of carbon-based mice forms. Once again, cannot stress how a cat will clean up all of this. My 3 live to find anything in, near, or around our cars. Treats!

The next question is just where did all that fluff come from?

In any case, this post details what I did to deter those little buggers. I found a nest in the p-car's frunk, as well as under the pillon of my motorcycle - I planted the little pepperminty canisters from the linked post stashed all over my motorcycle, around my cars and in the p-car's frunk. I have not experienced any vehicular rodent problems ever since.

Next: Battling the little ants that are crawling all over my grocery hauler.

Cooked Rodent

This critter here took down an electrical substation at my work location. His rear legs make it seem like he was auditioning for the Flying Wallendas'. High wire act proved fatal.

The same thing happened to me last year, running hot and discovered a cozy mouse house on the cooling fins -- except it was my tractor! -- Matt

Yes that is a cooked mouse and all that material came from a moving blanket on the other side of the garage. To access it I removed both shroud covers on both sides of the fan and using a flashlight and started reaching in until I found the mass of material. An enormous amount as shown was packed up against the oil cooler on the back right.

Dan, what state are you in? I found similar under the shifter link cover. Only mine was carpet underlayment and it was mixed with grass seed from a bag on the other side of the garage, a shredded blue shop towel, and scat. Rodents really do 5hit where they eat!
