Experience with Rennstrasse in LA area for mobile PPI?
I’m considering buying a 997 that is available from Pro Motorcars in Anaheim, but they tell me the car can’t be taken out for a PPI though a mechanic can come there. Google showed me Rennstrasse (https://rennstrasse.com/p/mobile-ppis) who says they do mobile PPIs for Porsches. Does anyone have any experience with them?
While I have you, any experience with Pro Motorcars? Thanks in advance! |

Maybe ask Pelican forum member Techweenie to PPI the car?

Have a look at the 997 section on Rennlist , it’ll give you a pretty good idea of the main issues with those cars , not sure if they’re the models that can possibly have extensive cylinder scoring that can cost you a ****load of money to fix after you purchase the car.
Make sure the person who does your PPI can do a borescope of the cylinder walls. I would be kind of skeptical regarding the seller not letting you do a proper PPI at a shop of hour choice , especially since you would be paying for it ! Just sayin …

Thanks @Helix8 - I found references to techweenie on Rennlist after I posted this. If I move forward on this car he will be the one I contact.
@wildcat077 - Agreed. That is the main reason I posted this - wondering if anyone else had ever bought through them. Either way, I’m leaning toward a different car from a private seller. We’ll see what happens. Thank you both for your input. |
