Door stricker rebuild
i know that pelican sells a door striker rebuild kit for 911 and 912 can anyone comment on the process?

you have to press the pins out (but not all the way) and then rotate the top plate to get the new plastic pieces in. Then just rotate back and press the pins back in.

I'm doing this just now.
To remove retaining bolts be sure to use a triple square m8 bit or you will damage nut heads. Also, before removing the strikers check spaces and alignment of the doors, i mean spaces and height, if they are ok mark them with a felt tip pen. Then mark the position of the striker using the same pen: this will guide you when you willl mount rebuilt strikers. One last suggestion: when you remove bolts, start with unscrewing both just a little, then remove completely just one of them, turn the striker a bit and plug the removed bolt to the nut, now completely remove the second bolt. This will aviod retaining nuts to fall on the floor of the garage avidiong to waste time when remounting Hope this helps |
