Reversing Wipers when mechanism is out of the car
I am about to reinstall the wiper mechanicals and I want to reverse the wipers while I have it out and it is easy to get at.
All the instructions I find are for doing it while installed. They have you detach the arm from the motor, move the wipers to the other side of the windshield then reattach the arm. Since mine is not installed, do I just just rotate things so the arm is 180 degrees from its original position? I don't want to screw it up then have to do it again while it is in the car. Related question... While I have it out, I'd like to clean and lube the moving parts. Any recommendation on what lube to use? Thanks in advance, Glenn ![]()

Are there any downsides to this mod? On the surface it seems like a good idea, but then why didn't the factory set it up that way?

I think 1968 was the only year.

I'm pretty sure I just rotated so the arm that connects to the motor was 180 from where it originally was.
Jeffbottman, I haven't really noticed a downside to parking the wipers on the passenger side. |
