Engine Swap Questions and values

Hi,
Let me apologize in advance for being behind the learning curve when it comes to engine matters. I enjoy my car, but I haven't become competent yet at engine work so I have to use a wrench for that. I drive a 1972 911 T that actually has a 2.0 1969 T engine in it. There is a gentleman that has an add that would like to swap a 1983 3.0 SC engine for a 2.0 T engine to put in his 914 race project. Of course, I would have to throw in $$ for the trade. My questions are as follows:
1. What is the value difference between a 2.0 T and a 3.0 SC engine?
2. My leakdown numbers on the 2.0 are as follows:
37%, 40%, 33%, 64%, 33%, 33%
the leakdown numbers on the 3.0 are as follows:
6%, 6%, 70%, 20%, 6%, 12%
Do both of these numbers mean that rebuilds are imminent on both engines? As far as daily driving, mine still works fine for my matters. He is not concerned about having to rebuild mine because he is planning on modifying it anyway for racing. I am concerned about rebuilding as I don't have that large a budget. But if it appears that I would have to rebuild mine within a couple of years anyway, then I could leave that out of the decision. If so, what does a typical top end rebuild cost?
3. What other items would I need to purchase to change my car to accept the 3.0 instead of the 2.0? Any estimate of costs?
4. What is a good cost guestimate on what it costs to do the actual swap? (ie the labor to remove the 2.0 and add the 3.0)
5. Considering the above factors, what should I expect to have to kick in to the deal to trade the engines.
6. What other questions should be asked of his engine. He lives in Detroit so I do plan on having a shop there look at it before we work a deal.
7. I take it the larger engine should make my 72 a LOT more fun to drive!!
Thanks in advance for your help, and sorry if these questions are elementary, I'm just trying to learn. Mike

Depending on the condition of the motor a 3.0 can be worth between 2500-5000 USD in stock form. If rebuilt and stud upgraded, then it's whatever you can get.

Your running 2.0/6 is worth "around" 2,000ish, or basically a little more than the carbs....at least this what I am seeing on the west coast.

Just my $.02.

It sounds like that SC engine has a broken Dilivar head stud! It would be prudent to do a top-end job and replace all 12 lower head studs with the OEM steel studs on the top row ... $130 worth of studs, before you try installing the engine!
